Snowflakes 05:03
Winter feels a little worse each year, I don't know that I can take another Ice cracks, fingers shake, my bones collapse, the worlds erased... but it won't always be like this, like snowflakes caught on our windowsill our home gentle and vibrant will grow Oppressive sky, an early twilight, an abyssal cold and nowhere to go The dryest skin shedding flakes in the wind, I'll never know which way they'll blow It won't always be like this, like snowflakes caught on our windowsill our home gentle and vibrant will grow Beyond the end, after the engine declines to starts, sputters out and it breaks our hearts The highway bends, careens towards emptiness, we should drive the other way... or maybe hibernate Winter feels a little worse each year, I don't know that I can take anymore Winter screams just like a shrieking beast, I already know that I'm not in control of that but it won't always be like this, like snowflakes caught on our windowsill our home gentle and vibrant will grow

O Weather 04:03
Respect the wind, absorb the chill I cycled up a steep country hill there I first met you in your hazmat suit You were laughing, you were cute You were the mayor of a small town You only had one real good friend around I blessed the season for the rain unitl it froze and I slipped down that hill again Ooooooo weather ooooo Weather Triumph over molecules Triumph over maybe one disaster Triumph over me and you Creatures of conformity Hot cakes and idiosyncrasies Bleachers where our fans go Impossibly impenetrable snow Too awake to cry Far too tired to try Speakers where the horns blow All our friends can come and go Oooo Weather oo Weather Barely holding on Barely moving along Crawling towards the sun Night after night we have fun

Show me where you want it I want it up against the wall Barely showing at all Treat me like a feather Plucked out of the wing of some gorgeous dying thing All at once, tell me tell me did you leave the car light on? Crumble inside On the way to the edge to the edge of all time Blessed in Body and Gold Where did the person I thought that I was go? To the edge, to the edge of the world Treat me like the last Winter Queen All at once, tell me tell me, did you leave the car light on? Crumble inside on the way to the edge to the edge of all time Body and Gold

about

A chopped-and-screwed album of wintry screeches, despondent pop, and glittery post-climate nightmare fantasies

I wanted to capture the Nov-March sounds of:
-Cold endless winds
-The revving of a car stuck in a ditch
-Skidding out on a patch of ice
-Falling down
-Feeling FROSTY
-Feeling COZY
-A roaring fire
-Consumeristic Void
-Small bouts of wonder & beauty in an otherwise dark and depressing season
-Scraping ice off a window
-Frostbite
-Driving on a lake of frozen water
-becoming ice
-Etc

90% of this was recorded LIVE to a single stereo track with no overdubs, multitracking, or editing. I used an SP-404, electric guitar, and a small but versatile modular rack for all the sounds

The 10% that was overdubbed includes: the vocals on tracks 1 4 and 9, as well as most of track 9 which was composed in ableton
